Dr. Lauren N. Dorsey studied Animal science on a pre-vet track at UMass Amherst as an undergraduate. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. 

Dr. Dorsey I was raised in Central Massachusetts, but she fell in love with Western Mass during her time as an undergrad at UMass Amherst. When she learned of VESH’s mentorship program after graduating from veterinary school, she realized it would be a perfect fit for her! She joined the Emergency Team at VESH in Augst of 2021. 

Prior to becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Dorsey worked as a veterinary technician in an emergency room in Springfield, MA. She also spent time as a camp counselor and taught horseback riding lessons to young children.

Outside of work, Dr. Dorsey loves horseback riding, hiking with her dogs, skiing, and spending time with her friends and family. Dr. Dorsey has three dogs (two Labrador Retrievers that she adopted during her time in vet school, and one mixed breed who she inherited from a family member), a cat who ended up being a foster fail, and an ex-racehorse that she is in the process of retraining for eventing.
