Addressing Cardiac Conditions in Pets
Our board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Malakoff, is specially trained to address cardiac conditions in pets. While some cardiac conditions require surgery, others can be managed medically. In all cases, we are prepared to consult with other specialists if needed. Our goal is to ensure that we can provide the maximum level of comfort and quality of life for your pet. If you believe your pet may benefit from a consult with Dr. Malakoff, ask your regular veterinarian to provide a referral to VESH or call (413) 665-4931.

What to Expect During Your Pet’s Cardiology Appointment
At your pet’s cardiology appointment, the technician will call you and review your pet’s history with you and ask questions to get you checked in for your appointment. We then will check your pet’s vital signs. Dr. Malakoff will perform her examination and echocardiogram, and her findings and recommendations will be summarized in a written report. The results and recommendations will be relayed to you by our Internal Medicine Specialist after your appointment.
