Dr. Alex Dolzhenko earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University. Before joining VESH, she practiced for three years at an Urgent Care hospital in Rochester, New York.

She completed her undergraduate studies in Zoology with a minor in Health Science. During that time, Dr. Dolzhenko had the unique opportunity to spend two months in Brazil working at a wildlife rehabilitation center and participating in field studies, enriching her hands-on experience with exotic and wild animals.

A first-generation college graduate, Dr. Dolzhenko moved to the United States from Russia at age 16. Pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian, she worked diligently to achieve this goal and now brings her passion and expertise to VESH.

Outside of work, Dr. Dolzhenko enjoys reading, caring for plants, and taking walks to appreciate the natural surroundings. Her favorite travel destination so far has been Ireland.

She lives locally with her partner, Kelsee, and their senior cat, Salem.
