Jordan Adair

Dr. Adair earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and went on to receive his veterinary degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. After graduating, he moved to Ohio to complete a one-year combined internship in exotics and small animal medicine at NorthCoast Bird & Exotic Specialties/Barberton Veterinary Clinic (now part of Metropolitan Veterinary Hospitals).

Following his internship, Dr. Adair decided to specialize in exotics and completed a three-year avian and exotics residency at the same hospital. During this time, he worked with pet birds, reptiles, and exotic companion mammals, as well as wildlife, the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, and Noah’s Lost Ark, an exotic animal sanctuary home to primates, wolves, bears, and big cats. He later served as an associate avian and exotics veterinarian for several years before deciding to branch out on his own.

Dr. Adair relocated to the Burlington, Vermont area, where he established the Avian & Exotics department at Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists. While in Vermont, he continued providing low-cost care to wildlife, delivered numerous continuing education lectures, and participated in various conservation projects, including work with endangered Timber Rattlesnakes. Additionally, he taught a 200-level class at the University of Vermont. Dr. Adair also earned board certification in Avian Medicine through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, joining fewer than 100 specialists in the U.S.

Now, Dr. Adair is excited to begin a new chapter at VESH, where he is dedicated to bringing specialty-level care to avian and exotic patients in Western Massachusetts. While his board certification is in Avian Medicine, he is experienced in treating a wide range of exotic animals, including reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, pocket pets, and more. He is also eager to develop a wildlife program at VESH.
